ALBANY, N.Y. (Interstat) — A surging Vermont looks to continue its climb in the America East standings when it visits a resurgent Albany team at SEFCU Arena on Monday night. The Catamounts (11-7, 3-0 America East) have won three straight conference games, most recently a 67-62 home victory over Maine on Thursday. Guard Sean Blake has been instrumental, averaging 14.3 points and 4.3 assists over the last four contests. He posted 17 points and six assists against the Black Bears. Vermont’s conference start includes narrow wins over Binghamton (60-59) and a decisive 80-61 road victory at New Hampshire. The Great Danes (6-12, 2-1), however, have found momentum after a tough non-conference slate. They’ve won two of their first three league games, including a 69-53 win over Binghamton on Thursday. That effort was powered by a career-high 23 points and seven assists from dynamic guard Amir Lindsey. Lindsey has been a consistent bright spot, scoring 18 or more points in five consecutive games, averaging 20.8 points and 5.2 assists during that stretch. The matchup pits Vermont’s steady, experienced core against an Albany squad leaning on Lindsey’s high-volume production. The Catamounts have shown resilience in close games, while the Great Danes will rely on home energy to extend their winning streak. Following this contest, Vermont continues its road trip at UMass Lowell on Thursday. Albany hits the road to face Maine on the same night.
