RICHMOND, Va. (Interstat) — A pivotal Atlantic 10 clash is set for Monday afternoon when the VCU Rams host the Saint Joseph’s Hawks at the Siegel Center. Both teams enter with momentum, having secured road victories in their last outings. VCU (12-6 overall) won 84-75 at Rhode Island on Wednesday, led by 19 points from guard Terrence Hill. Saint Joseph’s (11-7) edged Saint Bonaventure 68-64 at home the same day, powered by a 23-point performance from standout guard Jaiden Glover. The matchup features two of the conference’s most dynamic scorers. Glover has been on a tear for the Hawks, averaging 22.3 points over his last six games, including outbursts of 28, 29 and 23 points. For the Rams, Hill has been consistently potent, scoring 19 or more points in four of his last five contests. The game carries significant weight in the early conference standings. VCU has shown a potent offense, scoring 93 and 89 points in wins over Duquesne and Saint Bonaventure, respectively, but also suffered a home loss to Saint Louis on Jan. 7. Saint Joseph’s has won three straight, including an overtime thriller against Duquesne, but has struggled on the road at times this season. VCU will look to leverage its home-court advantage, where it is 8-2 this season. The Rams’ pressure defense will test a Hawks backcourt that has been careful with the ball during its winning streak. Saint Joseph’s will rely on Glover’s scoring and the backcourt support of Dasear Haskins and Derek Simpson, who dished seven assists against the Bonnies. Monday’s result will provide a key benchmark for both teams as they navigate a crowded A-10 race. The Hawks visit Dayton next Saturday, while the Rams travel to Davidson.
