The Huskies (6-11) enter coming off an 85-78 home win over Elon on Thursday, which snapped a three-game losing streak. The Hawks (8-10) aim to rebound from a 73-51 home loss to Drexel that same day. Northeastern will lean on the hot hand of guard William Kermoury, who is averaging 21.4 points over his last seven games. He erupted for 31 points and five assists in 39 minutes in the win over Elon. His backcourt play will be critical for a Huskies team that has shown offensive firepower but defensive inconsistencies. Monmouth counters with guard Cornelius Robinson, who scored 15 points in the loss to Drexel and had 17 in a win over William & Mary on Jan. 8. The Hawks have struggled offensively at times, failing to reach 70 points in three of their last five contests. This matchup begins a key stretch for both teams in conference play. Northeastern’s win over Elon provided a needed boost, but the Huskies are just 2-5 on the road this season. Monmouth is 5-4 at home and will look to protect its court advantage.
