Both teams enter with identical 11-win records, though Saint Bonaventure (11-3) holds a slight edge in winning percentage over Richmond (11-4). The game marks a key early conference test for each squad as they look to establish themselves atop the league standings. The Spiders are coming off an 83-75 road victory at Fordham on Sunday. Guard Will Johnston led the way with 20 points, six rebounds and six assists, continuing a stretch of strong play. Richmond, however, has proven capable on the road with notable non-conference wins at Belmont and Charlotte.
