GAINESVILLE, Fla. (Interstat) — The Florida Gators, looking to build momentum before entering Southeastern Conference play, host the Dartmouth Big Green in nonconference men’s basketball Monday night at the O’Connell Center. Florida (8-4) enters the contest riding a three-game winning streak, including a dominant 90-60 victory over Colgate on Dec. 21. The Gators have showcased a potent offense, averaging 88.5 points in their last two home wins. A key player for Florida is forward Alex Condon, who is coming off a standout performance. Against Colgate, Condon recorded a double-double with 16 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and two blocks. Over his last five games, he has averaged 12.2 points, 6.2 rebounds and 4.4 assists, providing versatile playmaking. Dartmouth (5-6) seeks to rebound from an 85-63 road loss at Sacred Heart on Dec. 19. The Big Green have struggled away from home this season, posting a 1-5 record in road games. Their defense will be tested against a high-scoring Florida squad. The Big Green will rely on forward Jackson Munro, who leads the team in scoring at 11.5 points per game over his last six contests. Munro was a bright spot in the loss to Sacred Heart, contributing 11 points and seven rebounds in 25 minutes. Historically, this matchup favors Florida, which holds more size and athleticism typical of a Power Five program. The Gators have used their nonconference schedule to prepare for a rigorous SEC slate that begins next week at Missouri.
