The Texans (8-4) enter the non-conference matchup riding a three-game winning streak, most recently an 88-64 road victory over Mississippi Valley State on Tuesday. Their offense has been potent during this stretch, averaging 100 points per win. A key catalyst has been guard Dior Johnson, who poured in 27 points and dished four assists in the last outing. Johnson has shown explosive scoring ability, including a 29-point performance in a win at Rice last month. He will be the focal point of a Tarleton State attack that has comfortably dispatched its lower-division opponents. The visiting Florida A&M Rattlers (3-5) snapped a two-game skid with a 72-65 home win over Jacksonville on Wednesday.
