Preview: Indiana State at Milwaukee MILWAUKEE (Interstat) ā The Indiana State Sycamores, riding a two-game win streak, will visit the Milwaukee Panthers in a nonconference menās basketball matchup Sunday at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena. Indiana State (6-4) enters with momentum after decisive home victories over Eureka and Southern Indiana last week. The Sycamoresā offense has averaged 88 points in those two wins. Milwaukee (4-5) snapped a two-game skid with a narrow 74-72 home win over Robert Morris on Dec. 6. A key matchup will feature Indiana Stateās versatile guard Ian Scott against Milwaukeeās scoring guard Seth Hubbard. Scott is coming off a strong all-around performance, posting 16 points, eight rebounds and six assists in 30 minutes against Southern Indiana. Over his last five games, he has averaged 13.2 points and 4.2 assists. Hubbard leads the Panthersā backcourt and is fresh from a 21-point outing against Robert Morris. He has scored in double figures in eight of Milwaukeeās nine games this season, including a 17-point effort in a blowout win over Dominican. The Sycamores have shown a stark home-road split early this season. They are 5-1 at home but just 1-3 in true road games, with their lone away victory coming at SIU Edwardsville. Their losses at Duke, Charlotte and Louisiana Tech were by an average of 18.3 points. Milwaukee has also struggled away from home, going 0-4 in road contests with losses to power conference foes Indiana and Texas Tech. The Panthers are 4-1 at Panther Arena, with the lone loss a 75-58 defeat at the hands of Wichita State. For Indiana State, support for Scott has come from Camp Wagner (15 points vs. Southern Indiana) and Enel St. Bernard (10 points, eight rebounds). Milwaukee will look for production beyond Hubbard from Isaiah Dorceus, who had 11 points and five assists last time out, and Aaron Franklin (12 points). This game represents a final nonconference tune-up for both teams before league play intensifies later in December. Indiana State begins Missouri Valley Conference play on Dec. 18 against Bradley. Milwaukee opens Horizon League play on Dec. 21 at Cleveland State. Tip-off is set for Sunday afternoon.
