The Chanticleers (6-4) enter off an 88-84 road win at Winthrop last Saturday, while the Antelopes (5-4) look to rebound from a 78-84 home loss to Oklahoma State the same day. Both teams have experienced similar early-season inconsistency, with each seeking a winning record. Coastal Carolina will lean on guard RaSheed Jones, who is coming off a 23-point, 5-assist performance in the win over Winthrop. Over his last seven games, Jones has averaged 14.6 points, showing explosive capability with a 20-point outing against Western Illinois and a 19-point effort in an overtime loss at South Carolina Upstate. His backcourt play will be critical against Grand Canyon’s pressure. The Antelopes counter with forward Efe Demirel, who scored a season-high 22 points in the narrow defeat to Oklahoma State. Demirel’s production has varied, but he has provided efficient scoring in limited minutes, including 12 points in a win over Utah. His ability to stretch the floor will test the Chanticleers’ interior defense. Coastal Carolina’s results have been a rollercoaster, featuring a 52-point loss at Illinois State but also several resilient road wins. Grand Canyon has shown a strong home-court advantage at GCU Arena, with decisive victories over Stetson and Utah in Phoenix, but has struggled against high-major competition.
