Undefeated Miami (Ohio) Visits UNC Asheville in Nonconference Finale ASHEVILLE, N.C. (Interstat) — The undefeated Miami (Ohio) Redhawks put their perfect record on the line Wednesday night against the UNC Asheville Bulldogs in a nonconference men’s basketball matchup at Kimmel Arena. Miami (8-0) is off to its best start in recent memory, averaging 92.1 points per game and winning by an average margin of 26.5 points. The Redhawks are coming off a dominant 93-61 victory over Maine on Saturday, their third game this season scoring over 100 points. A key catalyst is sophomore guard Evan Ipsaro, who is averaging 16.1 points and 4.1 assists. He scored 24 points in just 24 minutes against Maine and has been in double figures in six of eight games. UNC Asheville (4-5) seeks consistency after a 63-75 loss at North Carolina State last weekend. The Bulldogs have shown resilience, with a win over UNC Greensboro and a narrow loss to Tennessee State in their recent slate. The Bulldogs will lean on graduate guard Kameron Taylor, who is averaging 17.2 points, 5.9 rebounds and 3.4 assists. He posted 20 points, seven rebounds and four assists against the Wolfpack and recorded a double-double against Appalachian State. Miami’s high-powered offense, which features four players averaging double figures, will test a UNC Asheville defense allowing 72.2 points per game. The Bulldogs will aim to control the tempo and leverage their home court, where they are 3-1 this season. This game concludes the nonconference schedule for both teams. Miami opens Mid-American Conference play at Ball State on Dec. 20, while UNC Asheville begins Big South Conference action at home against High Point on Dec. 31.
