SAINT PAUL, Minn. (Interstat) — The Saint Thomas Tommies look to rebound from a midweek road loss when they host the Weber State Wildcats in a nonconference men’s basketball game Sunday at Schoenecker Arena. The Tommies (6-4) enter having dropped two of their last three, including an 82-74 loss at Montana State on Wednesday. Guard Nick Janowski led the way in that defeat, scoring 22 points. He has been a consistent offensive force, scoring in double figures in eight of ten games this season and averaging 15.4 points per contest. Weber State (4-4) arrives with momentum after a dominant 92-66 home victory over Oral Roberts on Wednesday. The Wildcats have won two straight following a three-game skid. Their offense has been potent in wins, averaging 87 points in their four victories. The matchup features two standout guards. For Saint Thomas, Janowski’s scoring versatility will be key. For Weber State, point guard Tijan Saine directs the attack. Saine is coming off a 15-point, 7-assist performance against Oral Roberts and has averaged 11.5 points and 5.4 assists over his last five games. Saint Thomas holds a record advantage, but has faced recent struggles away from home. Weber State seeks its first true road win of the season, having opened with an 0-3 record away from Ogden, though those losses came against tough competition like Utah, Utah State and UC Irvine. This is the first-ever meeting between the programs. The Tommies will look to defend their home court, where they are 4-1 this season. The Wildcats aim to carry their recent high-scoring form on the road and climb above .500. After this contest, Saint Thomas remains home to face Saint John’s on Thursday. Weber State continues a road swing at Missouri-Kansas City on Wednesday.
