Gonzaga Looks to Rebound Against North Florida SPOKANE, Wash. (Interstat) β The seventh-ranked Gonzaga Bulldogs look to bounce back from their first loss of the season when they host the North Florida Ospreys in a nonconference menβs basketball game Sunday at McCarthey Athletic Center. Gonzaga (7-1) saw its perfect start end with a 101-61 road loss to Michigan on Nov. 26. The Bulldogs, who had been averaging 93.1 points per game, were held to a season-low scoring output. They will aim to rediscover their offensive rhythm, which earlier produced decisive wins over then-Alabama, Maryland and Creighton. A key to that effort will be guard Tyon Grant-Foster. The senior is averaging 11.6 points per game and scored 21 in the victory over Alabama. He had 14 points in the loss to Michigan. North Florida (2-6) enters on a two-game skid, including a 72-63 home loss to SIU Edwardsville on Tuesday. The Ospreys have faced a challenging early schedule, with four of their six losses coming on the road, including games at Tennessee and Florida. The Ospreys will rely on guard Kamrin Oriol, who leads the team in scoring at 17.1 points per game. Oriol has been a consistent offensive force, scoring in double figures in seven of eight games, including a 30-point, 9-rebound performance in a win over New College on Nov. 15. In the loss to SIU Edwardsville, he played 38 minutes and scored 16 points. This marks the first-ever meeting between the programs. For North Florida, it is the final leg of a difficult five-game stretch against high-major opponents. Gonzaga continues its homestand before a neutral-site showdown with UCLA in Seattle next Saturday. The Bulldogs are 4-0 at home this season, winning those games by an average of 52.5 points. North Florida is 0-5 in true road games. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m. PST Sunday.
