CARROLLTON, Ga. (Interstat) — West Georgia looks to sweep a home-and-home series when it hosts Tennessee Tech in a nonconference men’s basketball game Saturday at The Coliseum. The Wolves (5-3) edged the Golden Eagles 61-59 in Cookeville, Tennessee, on Nov. 17 in the first meeting between the programs this season. West Georgia arrives following a 93-89 double-overtime road win at Troy on Monday, powered by a 26-point performance from Chas Lewless. Tennessee Tech (3-6) seeks to end a three-game skid, most recently an 83-80 loss at Lipscomb on Wednesday. Guard Ty Owens led the Golden Eagles with 15 points and seven assists in that defeat, while forward Dani Pounds added a team-high 19 points. The Golden Eagles’ struggles have largely come on the road, where they are 1-5 this season, including decisive losses at Kentucky and Georgia. West Georgia is 3-0 at home, with victories over The Citadel, Huntingdon and South Carolina Upstate. Following this matchup, Tennessee Tech begins Ohio Valley Conference play on Dec. 18. West Georgia will host Georgia Southern on Dec. 13 in its next outing.
