The Spiders (7-1) have won three straight, most recently an 84-76 road victory at Belmont on Wednesday. Will Johnston led the way with 19 points, while David Thomas added 18. Richmond’s only loss came by a single point at Furman. Old Dominion (3-6) seeks to halt a four-game skid. The Monarchs are coming off a 75-88 loss at William & Mary on Sunday, despite a 24-point performance from Jordan Battle. Their three wins have come at home, while all six losses have been on the road, often by decisive margins. The game represents a contrast in trajectories. Richmond has averaged 83.1 points per game and boasts a plus-10.1 average scoring margin. Old Dominion has been outscored by an average of 11.7 points during its current losing streak. Saturday’s contest is the final tune-up for both teams before exam breaks. Richmond will host Southern Illinois on Dec. 13, while Old Dominion travels to face George Mason the same day.
