CHICAGO (Interstat) — Two teams seeking to halt early-season slides will meet Saturday when the Princeton Tigers visit the Loyola Chicago Ramblers in nonconference men’s basketball. Princeton (3-8) arrives at Joseph Gentile Center having lost four straight, including a 63-58 defeat at Monmouth on Wednesday. CJ Happy led the Tigers with 20 points in that loss. Loyola Chicago (2-7) snapped a six-game skid with an 83-72 home win over Central Michigan on Tuesday, paced by Justin Moore’s 21 points. Both teams have struggled to find consistency. The Tigers’ three victories have come at home, while their road losses include setbacks at Kansas, Bradley and Akron. The Ramblers’ only other win this season was a 91-88 victory over Cleveland State on Nov. 3. The matchup features backcourts capable of carrying the offense. Princeton’s Happy and Jack Stanton, who scored 14 against Monmouth, will be challenged by Loyola’s Moore and Kymany Houinsou, who dished out six assists Tuesday. Saturday’s game is the final nonconference tune-up before exam breaks for both schools. Princeton next hosts Merrimack on Dec. 10, while Loyola Chicago welcomes Chicago State on Dec. 14.
