FOUNTAIN HILL, Pa. (Interstat) — Two teams looking to steady their seasons meet Saturday when the Long Island Sharks visit the Lehigh Mountain Hawks in nonconference men’s basketball. Long Island (4-4) and Lehigh (3-7) both enter coming off overtime losses on Tuesday. The Sharks fell 94-92 to Winthrop despite 27 points from Greg Gordon and 20 from Jamal Fuller. The Mountain Hawks dropped a 71-80 decision at Binghamton, led by Joshua Ingram’s 25 points. The Sharks have been inconsistent, with their four wins coming by an average of 9.5 points but their losses by 22.5. They are 3-1 on the road this season. Lehigh seeks to defend its home court at Stabler Arena after a challenging early schedule that included road games at Houston, West Virginia and Rutgers. Their lone home win was against Division III Valley Forge. Gordon, averaging 27 points in his last outing, will be a focal point for the Sharks’ offense. Lehigh will counter with its backcourt of Ingram and Nasir Whitlock, who scored 21 against Binghamton. This is the final nonconference tune-up for Lehigh before Patriot League play begins next month. Long Island continues a stretch of road games before hosting La Salle on Dec. 13.
