MANHATTAN, Kan. (Interstat) — The Seton Hall Pirates, off to one of their best starts in recent seasons, will face a test on the road against the Kansas State Wildcats at Bramlage Coliseum on Saturday. Seton Hall (8-1) has won seven straight games since a narrow two-point loss at Southern California on Nov. 25. The Pirates are coming off a 77-61 home win over Central Connecticut on Wednesday, where guard Adam Clark posted a double-double with 10 points and 12 assists. Kansas State (5-3) looks to rebound from a disappointing 82-66 home loss to Bowling Green on Monday. Despite the defeat, guard David Castillo scored 22 points, averaging a team-high 19.1 points per game this season. The Pirates have relied on balanced scoring and defense, holding opponents to an average of 66.2 points during their winning streak. The Wildcats have shown offensive firepower but inconsistency, averaging 84.1 points while allowing 80.6 per game. This nonconference matchup precedes the start of league play for both. Seton Hall begins a rigorous Big East schedule next week, while Kansas State turns its attention to Big 12 competition next month. Saturday’s game tips off at 1 p.m. CST.
