CHENEY, Wash. (Interstat) — Two teams seeking to halt lengthy early-season slides will meet Saturday when the Eastern Washington Eagles host the Missouri-Kansas City Kangaroos in a nonconference men’s basketball game at Reese Court. Both programs enter with identical 1-7 records. The Kangaroos have lost seven straight since a season-opening win over Evangel, including a 68-59 home loss to Idaho State on Wednesday. Kasheem Grady led UMKC with 19 points in that defeat. Eastern Washington has also dropped seven consecutive games after a victory over Eastern Oregon. The Eagles fell 93-89 at Denver on Wednesday, despite a 28-point performance from guard Isaiah Moses. The Kangaroos have struggled on both ends, allowing 80 or more points in five of their losses. Eastern Washington has shown more offensive pop, scoring 89 and 97 in recent defeats, but has faced defensive lapses. This matchup offers a rare home opportunity for the Eagles before a daunting five-game road stretch. For the Kangaroos, it’s the finale of a season-opening run where eight of their first nine games are away from Kansas City. Tip-off is set for Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025.
