PITTSBURGH (Interstat) — The Stony Brook Seawolves, off to their best start in recent seasons, will face the Duquesne Dukes in a non-conference men’s basketball game Saturday at A.J. Palumbo Center. Stony Brook (6-2) enters on a three-game winning streak, most recently edging Loyola Marymount 71-68 on the road last Friday. Erik Pratt led the way with 28 points in that victory. The Seawolves’ only losses this season came against Pacific and Yale. Duquesne (5-3) looks to rebound at home after an 83-79 loss to William & Mary on Tuesday. Jimmie Williams scored 16 points in the defeat for the Dukes, who are 4-1 at the Palumbo Center this season, with the lone loss to Northeastern. The matchup features contrasting recent trajectories. Stony Brook has won five of its last six, while Duquesne has split its last four games. The Seawolves’ defense has held opponents to 68 points or fewer in five of their eight games. This is the first meeting between the programs. Following this game, Stony Brook hosts Columbia on Tuesday. Duquesne begins a two-game road trip at Boise State on Wednesday. Tip-off is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 6, in Pittsburgh.
