FORT COLLINS, Colo. (Interstat) β€” The undefeated Colorado Buffaloes will put their perfect record on the line Saturday in a road test against rival Colorado State at Moby Arena. The Buffaloes (8-0) are off to their best start in recent years after holding off California Baptist 78-70 on Monday. Isaiah Johnson led the way with 17 points, while Barrington Hargress and Sebastian Rancik each added 12. Colorado has won each of its games by an average of 11.5 points. Colorado State (6-2) enters with momentum after winning two games at the Sunshine Slam in Florida last week, including an 83-68 victory over South Florida on Friday. Guard Josh Pascarelli exploded for 28 points in that win, while transfer Carey Booth added 16 points and six rebounds. Point guard Jevin Muniz dished out 10 assists. The Rams’ two losses came by a combined four points, a two-point defeat to Virginia Tech and an overtime loss to Denver. This in-state rivalry game is a final non-conference tune-up for both schools before league play begins next month. Colorado will begin its Big 12 schedule in January, while Colorado State will open Mountain West Conference action. Following this game, the Buffaloes host Texas-San Antonio on Dec. 13. The Rams will host Dartmouth on Dec. 9.
