LEWSBURG, Pa. (Interstat) — Maryland-Baltimore County looks to rebound from its first loss in nearly two weeks when it visits struggling Bucknell in nonconference men’s basketball on Saturday. The Retrievers (5-3) had a four-game winning streak snapped in a 90-81 road loss at Georgetown on Wednesday. Jah’Likai King scored 19 points in that defeat, while Daylon Dickerson added 12 points and three assists. UMBC’s surge followed an 0-2 start, highlighted by a 102-52 rout of Notre Dame on Nov. 24. Bucknell (2-8) has dropped seven consecutive games since a season-opening win over Delaware. The Bison fell 97-77 at Akron on Wednesday, led by Quin Berger’s 18 points and Jayden Williams’ 15 points and five assists. Their setbacks have largely come on the road or against power-conference opponents. The matchup at Sojka Pavilion presents a contrast in momentum. UMBC has shown a potent offense during its recent run, while the Bison are seeking to arrest a skid where they have allowed an average of 86.4 points during their seven-game losing streak. Following this game, UMBC returns home to host Buffalo on Tuesday. Bucknell travels to Rider on Tuesday before a Dec. 20 meeting with Iowa in Des Moines.
