CINCINNATI (Interstat) — The Crosstown Shootout renews Friday when the Cincinnati Bearcats visit the Xavier Musketeers in a men’s NCAA Division I basketball rivalry game at Cintas Center. Both teams enter with 6-win records. Cincinnati (6-2) has won four of its last five, including a 76-58 home victory over Tarleton State on Monday. Guard Kerr Kriisa scored 20 points in that win, while backcourt mate Day Day Thomas added 19 points and six assists. Xavier (6-3) is also coming off a decisive win, having defeated Saint Francis (PA) 96-74 on Monday. Guard Roddie Anderson III led the Musketeers with 28 points and five assists in that contest. The Bearcats’ two losses came against Eastern Michigan and Louisville. Xavier’s setbacks include close defeats to Georgia and Le Moyne, plus road losses to Iowa and Santa Clara. Friday’s game is the final major non-conference test for both programs before their respective league schedules intensify. Cincinnati begins Big 12 play in January, while Xavier opens Big East action later in December.
