PROVIDENCE, R.I. (Interstat) — Two struggling men’s basketball teams seeking consistency will meet Friday when the Bryant Bulldogs visit the Brown Bears at the Pizzitola Sports Center. Bryant (3-6) enters with momentum after a 77-65 home victory over Stonehill on Tuesday. Ty Tabales led the way with 18 points and seven assists, while Ashley Sims added 11 points and four assists. The Bulldogs’ three wins have all come at home, and they are 0-5 on the road this season. Brown (2-6) looks to rebound from a 66-56 loss at in-state rival Rhode Island. Jeremiah Jenkins and Malcolm Wrisby-Jefferson each scored 12 points in the defeat. The Bears’ victories this season came against Holy Cross and New Hampshire, but they have dropped four of their last five. Both teams have faced early-season challenges against high-major opponents. Bryant fell to Connecticut, Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech, while Brown’s schedule has included a double-overtime loss to Vermont. The matchup features backcourts that fuel the offense. Bryant’s Tabales and Sims will be tasked with containing Brown’s Wrisby-Jefferson, who dishes a team-high 3.6 assists per game. Following this contest, Brown hosts Elms on Saturday. Bryant’s next game is at Iona on Dec. 10. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday.
