DAVIDSON, N.C. (Interstat) — The Davidson Wildcats, off to a strong start this season, will host the struggling Citadel Bulldogs in a nonconference men’s basketball game Thursday at Belk Arena. Davidson (6-1) has won six of its first seven games, most recently a 90-74 victory over North Carolina A&T on Nov. 28. Josh Scovens led the way with 21 points. The Citadel (2-6) seeks to halt a three-game skid, including a 69-41 road loss to Presbyterian on Sunday. Braxton Williams scored 13 points in that defeat. The Wildcats’ only loss came against Utah State, 94-60, on Nov. 23. They have wins over Boston College and Washington State. The Bulldogs’ two victories are against Erskine and North Greenville, but they have faced sizable defeats in their other contests. Following this game, Davidson will host Saint Mary’s on Sunday. The Citadel returns home to face Southern Wesleyan on Dec. 9. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. EST.
