YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (Interstat) — Horizon League rivals with identical records will meet Wednesday when Youngstown State hosts Wright State at Beeghly Center. Both the Penguins (4-4) and Raiders (4-4) are looking to build momentum in their conference opener. Wright State is coming off a 94-69 road loss to Butler on Friday. Michael Imariagbe led the Raiders with 13 rebounds in that defeat, while TJ Burch added 13 points and five assists. The Raiders have split their last four games. Youngstown State enters on a high note after an 87-64 home victory over Chicago State on Friday. Vladimer Salaridze scored 13 points and grabbed five rebounds off the bench, and Cris Carroll added a team-high 15 points for the Penguins, who have won two of their last three. The Raiders have shown a high-powered offense at times, scoring 100 points in a win over Ohio Wesleyan and 92 in a victory at Radford. The Penguins’ most impressive win is a 90-81 road victory at Grand Canyon. This is the first of two regular-season meetings between the teams. They will play again at Wright State on Jan. 15.
