SEATTLE (Interstat) — Two teams seeking momentum in the new Big Ten Conference will meet Wednesday when the UCLA Bruins visit the Washington Huskies at Hec Edmundson Pavilion. Both teams enter the matchup with identical 5-2 records. UCLA, the visiting team, looks to rebound from an 80-72 road loss at California on Nov. 25. In that game, Trent Perry and Eric Dailey each scored 17 points to lead the Bruins. Washington also aims to recover from a road defeat, falling 81-68 at Colorado on Nov. 28. Quimari Peterson paced the Huskies with 18 points in that contest. The Bruins’ two losses this season have come against Arizona and California. Their five wins have all been by double digits. Washington’s setbacks were against Baylor and Colorado, with its most dramatic win a double-overtime 99-93 victory over Southern. Wednesday’s game is an early conference clash in the expanded Big Ten. It marks the start of a challenging stretch for both programs. UCLA will host Oregon on Saturday, while Washington travels to face Southern California the same day. The game is scheduled for a 9 p.m. EST tipoff in Seattle.
