WILMINGTON, N.C. (Interstat) — The UNC Wilmington Seahawks, off to a strong 7-1 start, will host the Marshall Thundering Herd at Trask Coliseum on Wednesday night in a nonconference men’s basketball matchup. The Seahawks have won four straight, including an 88-62 rout of Gardner-Webb on Saturday. Madison Durr scored 14 points with six assists in that win, while Nolan Hodge added a team-high 16 points. UNC Wilmington’s lone loss came at Kent State on Nov. 10. Marshall (5-2) looks to rebound from a 90-67 home loss to Lipscomb last Wednesday. Noah Otshudi led the Thundering Herd with 18 points in that defeat. Marshall’s two losses this season — to Lipscomb and Virginia — have come by an average of 23.5 points, while its five wins have been by an average margin of 11.6 points. The game marks the front end of a two-game road swing for Marshall, which plays at Ohio on Saturday. UNC Wilmington hits the road for its next contest at Louisiana-Lafayette on Saturday.
