Texas State Looks to Rebound Against Rice in Houston HOUSTON (Interstat) β€” The Texas State Bobcats aim to bounce back from an overtime loss when they visit the Rice Owls in a nonconference men’s basketball game Wednesday night at Tudor Fieldhouse. Texas State (6-4) fell 78-74 in overtime to Lehigh on Saturday despite a standout performance from forward DJ Hall, who scored 23 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. The Bobcats had won four of their previous five games before the defeat. Rice (3-6) enters with momentum after an 81-62 home victory over Oral Roberts on Nov. 26. Guard Nick Anderson led the Owls with 22 points in that win. The Bobcats have been strong at home but are 1-2 in true road games this season. Rice is 2-2 at Tudor Fieldhouse. This is the final nonconference tune-up for Texas State before it hosts Southern on Dec. 10. Rice continues its homestand against Arkansas State on Dec. 13. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CST.
