CORVALLIS, Ore. (Interstat) — The Vermont Catamounts look to rebound from a narrow loss when they visit the Oregon State Beavers in a nonconference men’s basketball game Wednesday afternoon at Gill Coliseum. Vermont (5-4) enters off a 77-74 home defeat to Yale on Sunday. Gus Yalden led the Catamounts with 22 points and seven rebounds, while TJ Hurley added 19 points and TJ Long scored 18. The Catamounts had won two of their previous three. Oregon State (3-5) seeks to end a four-game skid after falling 75-69 to California Baptist at home Saturday. Dez White paced the Beavers with 14 points. The Beavers’ last win came against North Texas on Nov. 12. Vermont holds a record advantage but has struggled on the road, going 2-3. Oregon State is 3-2 at home. The Catamounts feature a more potent offense, averaging 78.2 points per game to Oregon State’s 70.1. This is the first meeting between the programs. Vermont visits Pepperdine on Saturday. Oregon State hosts Southern Utah on Saturday.
