WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. (Interstat) — The Monmouth Hawks will look to extend their winning streak when they host the struggling Princeton Tigers in a nonconference men’s basketball game Wednesday night at the Multipurpose Activity Center. Monmouth (4-4) has won three straight, including an 88-74 victory at Lafayette on Sunday. Jason Rivera-Torres scored 20 points and Justin Ray added 21 off the bench in that win. The Hawks have found momentum after an uneven start to their season. Princeton (3-7) arrives seeking to snap a four-game skid, most recently a narrow 60-58 loss at Saint Joseph’s on Sunday. Jackson Hicke led the Tigers with 20 points and seven rebounds in that defeat, with Jack Stanton adding 14 points. Princeton’s losses have largely been close, with three of their last four defeats coming by five points or fewer. The Tigers’ offense has sputtered during their losing streak, failing to reach 70 points in any of the four games. Defending their home floor, the Hawks will aim to capitalize on that trend behind a balanced attack that has averaged 78 points during their three-game win streak. This is the first meeting between the programs since 2019. Following this game, Princeton travels to face Loyola Chicago on Saturday, while Monmouth visits Georgia Tech.
