MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Interstat) — Two teams looking to halt early-season slides will meet Wednesday when the Memphis Tigers host the New Orleans Privateers in nonconference men’s basketball at FedExForum. Memphis (2-4) snapped a four-game losing streak with a 74-58 home win over Southern Illinois on Nov. 26. Aaron Bradshaw, Dug McDaniel and Julius Thedford each scored in double figures in the victory. New Orleans (3-5) has dropped five of its last six, including an 82-50 loss at Texas Tech on Nov. 26. Jakevion Buckley led the Privateers with 16 points in that defeat. Their lone win in that stretch was a 78-74 victory at TCU on Nov. 3. The Privateers have played entirely on the road this season. Wednesday’s game is the final contest of an eight-game away stretch to open their schedule. Following this matchup, Memphis will host Baylor on Saturday. New Orleans will finally play its home opener that same day against Houston Christian. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CST.
