(Interstat) — The Lipscomb Bisons and Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles, both seeking momentum near the .500 mark, will meet in a nonconference men’s basketball game Wednesday at Allen Arena. Lipscomb (4-4) enters on a two-game win streak, most recently an 88-77 road victory at Southeast Missouri State on Saturday. Mateo Esmeraldo led the way with 22 points and five assists, while Grant Asman controlled the paint with 11 rebounds and seven assists. Tennessee Tech (3-5) looks to rebound from a pair of lopsided road losses to Southeastern Conference opponents. The Golden Eagles fell 123-81 at Georgia on Saturday, despite 16 points from Mekhi Turner and 15 from Ty Owens. Their three wins have come against lower-division opponents or on the road at South Carolina Upstate. The Bisons have shown a potent offense in victories, averaging 86 points in their four wins, but have struggled defensively in losses. The Golden Eagles, conversely, have allowed an average of 103 points in their five defeats. This matchup begins a key stretch for both teams before league play intensifies in January. Lipscomb will host Alabama A&M on Sunday, while Tennessee Tech visits West Georgia on Saturday.
