BEAUMONT, Texas (Interstat) — The Lamar Cardinals look to continue their strong start to the season when they host the struggling Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns in a nonconference men’s basketball game Wednesday afternoon at the Montagne Center. Lamar (4-2) enters having won three of its last four, including a 90-46 rout of Our Lady of the Lake on Saturday. Rob Lee scored 26 points in that victory. Louisiana-Lafayette (1-7) seeks to halt a six-game losing streak. The Ragin’ Cajuns are coming off a 51-45 home loss to Jackson State on Friday, despite 13 points from Dariyus Woodson. The team has not won since its season opener on Nov. 7. The Cardinals have been effective at home, winning two of three games in Beaumont this season. The Ragin’ Cajuns, conversely, are 0-6 in road and neutral-site games. This is the first meeting between the programs since the 2019-20 season. Lamar won that contest 72-68. Following this game, Lamar will host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Saturday. Louisiana-Lafayette returns home to face UNC Wilmington the same day.
