AMES, Iowa (Interstat) — The unbeaten Iowa State Cyclones host the struggling Alcorn State Braves in a nonconference men’s basketball game Wednesday at Hilton Coliseum. Iowa State (7-0) has dominated its early schedule, winning each game by double digits. The Cyclones are coming off a 95-64 rout of Syracuse on Nov. 26, led by Milan Momcilovic’s 24 points. Guards Killyan Toure and Joshua Jefferson have been consistent catalysts for a high-powered offense. Alcorn State (1-8) faces its ninth consecutive road game to open the season. The Braves fell 83-58 at Louisiana Tech on Saturday. Tycen McDaniels scored 11 points in the loss, while Jameel Morris added six points and six rebounds. Alcorn State’s lone win came at Indiana State, 81-74, on Nov. 28. The game is a final tune-up for Iowa State before a major road test at Purdue on Saturday. Alcorn State continues a brutal stretch of power-conference opponents before opening SWAC play in January.
