ATLANTA (Interstat) — Georgia Tech looks to rebound from a two-game skid when it hosts Mississippi State in a nonconference men’s basketball game Wednesday night at Hank McCamish Pavilion. The Yellow Jackets (5-3) have dropped consecutive games to DePaul and Drake after a 5-1 start. Baye Ndongo (14 points, 7 rebounds) and Akai Fleming (15 points, 7 rebounds) led Georgia Tech in its 84-74 loss at Drake on Saturday. Mississippi State (3-4) arrives after a taxing 87-81 overtime home loss to SMU last Friday. The Bulldogs have played three overtime periods in their last two games, narrowly beating New Orleans before the defeat to the Mustangs. Jayden Epps scored 21 points in the loss, while Ja’Borri McGhee added 17 and Josh Hubbard had 16. The Bulldogs have struggled defensively on the road, allowing an average of 97 points in losses at Iowa State and Kansas State this season. Georgia Tech begins Atlantic Coast Conference play on Dec. 31 at Duke. Mississippi State’s next game is Sunday against San Francisco in Tupelo, Mississippi.
