STATESBORO, Ga. (Interstat) — The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs will look to continue their momentum when they visit the Georgia Southern Eagles in a nonconference men’s basketball game Wednesday at Hanner Fieldhouse. Both teams are coming off decisive home victories this past Saturday. Louisiana Tech (4-2) routed Alcorn State 83-58 behind a career-high 26 points from guard AJ Bates. Georgia Southern (4-5) defeated Houston Christian 80-62, powered by a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds from Alden Applewhite. The Bulldogs have won three of their last four, including a 75-73 win over Indiana State. Their two losses came on the road at Nevada and in a rematch at Indiana State. The Eagles have faced a challenging early schedule, with four of their five losses coming on the road. Their only home loss was a season-opening two-point defeat to Georgia Tech. Guard Tyren Moore averages a team-leading 14.9 points per game. Wednesday’s contest is the first of a two-game road trip for Louisiana Tech before returning home. Georgia Southern plays its next three games at home, seeking to reach .500 before Sun Belt Conference play begins next month.
