WESTCHESTER, Fla. (Interstat) β The Florida Gulf Coast Eagles look to rebound from a heartbreaking overtime loss when they visit the Florida International Golden Panthers in a non-conference menβs basketball game Wednesday night. The Eagles (5-3) fell 102-100 to Kennesaw State last Wednesday despite a 42-point performance from guard Jordan Ellerbee. He leads a high-scoring attack that has topped 90 points in four games this season. Florida Gulf Coast has shown resilience, however, winning two of three games that went to overtime. Florida International (3-3) is coming off a 74-61 home win over Omaha. Forward Corey Stephenson paced the Golden Panthers with 15 points and nine rebounds, while guard Brit Harris added a team-high 24 points. The Golden Panthers are 2-0 at home this season, with both wins coming by double digits. The game at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center features two teams with contrasting recent results. Florida Gulf Coast aims to tighten its defense after allowing 102 points in its last outing, while Florida International seeks to build momentum before a tough upcoming stretch that includes a road game at Miami. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST.
