HANOVER, N.H. (Interstat) — In-state rivals New Hampshire and Dartmouth meet Wednesday night at Leede Arena, with both men’s basketball teams seeking momentum as non-conference play continues. The Wildcats (2-6) visit the Big Green (2-3) in a 7 p.m. tipoff. New Hampshire looks to snap a four-game skid, most recently falling 72-68 at Fairfield on Sunday. Belal El Shakery led the Wildcats in that loss with 13 points and eight rebounds. Dartmouth enters with confidence after an 87-61 road win at Saint Peter’s on Saturday. Brandon Mitchell-Day scored 23 points and Jackson Munro added a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds in the victory. The Wildcats’ offense has struggled against high-major competition, but found success in two home blowouts of lower-division opponents. Dartmouth’s results have been uneven, with a loss to Marist and a win over Appalachian State highlighting its early schedule. This game begins a challenging stretch for both. New Hampshire hosts Boston University on Saturday, while Dartmouth embarks on a two-game road trip to Wyoming and Colorado State. Wednesday’s contest is the first of two scheduled meetings this season between the Granite State programs.
