DENTON, Texas (Interstat) — The North Texas Mean Green, off to a strong 6-2 start, will look to protect their home court Tuesday when they host the Houston Christian Huskies at North Texas Coliseum. The Mean Green are coming off a narrow 72-69 home victory over Prairie View on Sunday. North Texas has found success in Denton, boasting a perfect 5-0 record at home this season. Their two losses came on the road against power-conference opponents Saint Mary’s and Oregon State. Houston Christian (4-3) arrives looking to rebound from a 80-62 road loss to Georgia Southern this past Saturday. In that game, Ryan Bartley, Elijah Brooks and Demarco Bethea each scored in double figures for the Huskies. Houston Christian has struggled away from home, with all three of its losses coming in true road games. The Huskies’ offense will need to solve a North Texas defense that has held its last three opponents to 71 points or fewer. Following this non-conference matchup, North Texas will prepare for a crosstown showdown with TCU on Sunday. Houston Christian opens Southland Conference play at New Orleans on Dec. 6. Tip-off is set for Tuesday night.
