JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Interstat) — The SIU Edwardsville Cougars, riding a wave of momentum, will face the struggling North Florida Ospreys in a non-conference men’s basketball game Tuesday at UNF Arena. SIU Edwardsville (5-3) enters the contest having won three of its last four games, including a dominant 92-55 victory over Missouri Baptist on Friday. The Cougars have shown a balanced attack, with Arnas Sakenis, Jack Campion and Ring Malith all posting strong performances in the win. North Florida (2-5) snapped a five-game losing streak with a 111-67 rout of Trinity Baptist on Saturday. The Ospreys’ offense was led by Trey Cady’s 22 points in that contest. However, North Florida has struggled against higher-level competition, with its two wins coming against non-Division I opponents. The game represents a key opportunity for both teams. The Cougars will look to continue their winning ways before returning home, while the Ospreys will seek their first Division I victory of the season to build confidence before a daunting upcoming road trip that includes games at Gonzaga and Dayton. Tipoff is set for Tuesday, Dec. 2.
