PISCATAWAY, N.J. (Interstat) — The unbeaten and No. 1-ranked Purdue Boilermakers put their perfect record on the line Tuesday night in a tough road test against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights at Louis Brown Center. Purdue (7-0) has rolled through its non-conference schedule, winning every game by double digits. The Boilermakers are coming off a dominant 109-62 victory over Eastern Illinois on Friday, where 7-foot-3 center Daniel Jacobsen led the way with 24 points, nine rebounds and six blocks. Rutgers (5-3) looks to rebound after a 68-63 home loss to Notre Dame last week. The Scarlet Knights previously snapped a two-game skid with an 80-65 win over UNLV, fueled by 21 points from Emmanuel Ogbole. This matchup opens the Big Ten conference schedule for both teams. Purdue’s high-powered offense, which has averaged 88.1 points per game, will be challenged by a Rutgers squad that has been strong defensively at home, allowing an average of just 60.8 points in its four victories in Piscataway. The game tips off at 7 p.m. EST and will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network. Purdue’s next contest is at home against Iowa State on Saturday, while Rutgers travels to face Michigan.
