DEKALB, Ill. (Interstat) — Two teams looking to build momentum will meet Tuesday when the Lindenwood Lions visit the Northern Illinois Huskies in a nonconference men’s basketball game. Both teams enter the contest at the Convocation Center with identical 3-4 records. Lindenwood is coming off an 80-67 home victory over Missouri-Kansas City on Nov. 24. Jadis Jones led the Lions with 19 points, while Dontrez Williams added 13 points and six assists. Northern Illinois seeks to rebound from a 77-59 road loss to Austin Peay on Nov. 25. Gianni Cobb paced the Huskies in that game with 12 points. The Lions have shown a pattern of struggling on the road, with losses at Indiana, Alabama A&M, Saint Louis and Texas Tech by an average of 29 points. Their lone road win came at Charleston Southern on Nov. 14. The Huskies have also faced challenges away from home, falling to Austin Peay, Northern Iowa, Grand Canyon and Wisconsin. Their most impressive performance was a 76-59 win at Loyola Chicago on Nov. 21. Tuesday’s game will be the first meeting between the programs. Lindenwood’s next game is at Eastern Illinois on Saturday, while Northern Illinois travels to face Bradley.
