RENO, Nev. (Interstat) — The undefeated UC San Diego Tritons put their perfect record on the line Tuesday night against the Nevada Wolf Pack in a nonconference men’s basketball clash at Lawlor Events Center. UC San Diego (7-0) is one of the nation’s remaining unbeatens and is coming off an 87-73 home victory over Towson last Wednesday. Leo Beath led the way with 16 points and five rebounds, while Aidan Burke added 14 points. The Tritons’ strong start includes road wins at Bradley and Fresno State. Nevada (5-3) looks to build momentum after an 81-65 road win at San Francisco last Friday. In that game, Corey Camper scored 22 points and dished out six assists, and Ethan Croley posted an 11-point, 10-rebound double-double. The Wolf Pack have been inconsistent, however, with a 17-point loss at Washington preceding the San Francisco victory. The game pits UC San Diego’s high-scoring offense against a Nevada team seeking a statement home win before entering Mountain West Conference play. The Tritons will continue their road trip at Long Beach State on Saturday. Nevada travels to face Washington State next Sunday.
