LOS ANGELES (Interstat) — Two teams looking to rebound from narrow, last-second losses will meet Tuesday when the Saint Louis Billikens visit the Loyola Marymount Lions in a non-conference men’s basketball matchup. Saint Louis (6-1) saw its undefeated start to the season end Friday with a 78-77 home loss to Stanford. The Billikens had previously won six straight, including a 71-70 victory over Santa Clara a day earlier. Guard Trey Green leads the offense, coming off a 15-point performance in the loss. Loyola Marymount (7-2) also suffered a tough defeat on Friday, falling 71-68 to Stony Brook at home. The Lions had won their previous two games, including a 70-58 victory over Ohio. Forward Rokas Jocius has been a force inside, scoring 22 points in the Lions’ most recent contest. The game at Gersten Pavilion pits a Saint Louis team that has been dominant in its wins, with an average victory margin of over 30 points, against a Loyola Marymount squad that has shown resilience, winning in overtime at UC Santa Barbara earlier this month. Following this contest, Saint Louis returns home to face Central Michigan on Dec. 7, while Loyola Marymount remains at home to host UC San Diego on Dec. 16.
