KENNESAW, Ga. (Interstat) — The Kennesaw State Owls, riding high from a thrilling overtime victory, will host the struggling Jackson State Tigers in a non-conference men’s basketball game on Tuesday. Kennesaw State (5-2) is coming off a 102-100 overtime win at Florida Gulf Coast on Wednesday. Simeon Cottle led the way with 33 points in that outing. The Owls have shown a potent offense, averaging 95.7 points in their five wins. Jackson State (1-6) snapped a six-game losing streak with a 51-45 defensive win at Louisiana-Lafayette on Friday. Daeshun Ruffin scored a team-high 18 points in that victory. Prior to that win, the Tigers faced a brutal early-season schedule with road losses to power-conference opponents like Arkansas, Auburn, Illinois and Louisville, often by wide margins. The game will tip off at the KSU Convocation Center. It is the first meeting between the two programs. For Jackson State, the contest is another challenging road test before a 10-day break. The Tigers visit Houston on Dec. 10. Kennesaw State will look to maintain its momentum before hosting in-state foe Georgia State on Friday.
