DURHAM, N.C. (Interstat) — The undefeated and No. 1-ranked Duke Blue Devils put their perfect record on the line Tuesday when they host the Florida Gators in a marquee nonconference men’s basketball showdown at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Duke (8-0) has been dominant early, with its most impressive win an 80-71 victory at Arkansas last Thursday. Freshman phenom Cameron Boozer was spectacular in that contest, pouring in 35 points. The Blue Devils also boast a 78-66 win over Kansas, establishing them as a national title contender. Florida (5-2) arrives with momentum after a 90-78 home win over Providence on Friday. The Gators’ offense was fueled by a strong frontcourt performance from Thomas Haugh, who posted 16 points and 12 rebounds, and Rueben Chinyelu, who added 13 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Xaivian Lee contributed 20 points and seven rebounds. The Gators’ two losses this season are by a combined 10 points, falling to Arizona and TCU. This game begins a difficult stretch for Florida, which faces Connecticut next. For Duke, this is the final test of a demanding early schedule before a lighter stretch in mid-December. The Blue Devils have won every game by at least nine points. Tipoff is set for 9:17 p.m. EST Tuesday at Cameron Indoor Stadium. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.
