CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Interstat) — The Charlotte 49ers look to halt a three-game skid when they host in-state foe North Carolina A&T on Tuesday night. The 49ers (3-5) fell 71-66 to Richmond last Friday, despite 18 points from Ben Bradford. Charlotte’s last win was against Shaw on Nov. 23. North Carolina A&T (3-2) enters following a 90-74 road loss at Davidson on Friday. Lewis Walker scored 22 points in that defeat for the Aggies, who had won three straight prior. The game marks a final non-conference tune-up for both before lengthy stretches of league play. Charlotte begins American Athletic Conference action on Dec. 31 against Temple. The Aggies start Coastal Athletic Association play on Jan. 3 at Stony Brook. Walker leads the Aggies’ offense, averaging 22 points in his last outing. Bradford and Dezayne Mingo, who had 11 points against Richmond, are key contributors for the 49ers. In recent results, North Carolina A&T’s victories include an 89-83 win over Washington Adventist and a 79-73 win at Morgan State. Charlotte’s season opened with a win over Indiana State but has since included close losses to Appalachian State and Virginia Tech. Tip-off is set for Tuesday at Halton Arena.
