JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Interstat) — A pair of teams coming off contrasting regular-season finales will meet in a postseason clash when the Virginia Cavaliers face the Missouri Tigers on Saturday, Dec. 27, 2025, at EverBank Stadium. Virginia (10-3), the designated visiting team, enters having lost two of its last three, including a 27-20 overtime defeat to Duke at home on Dec. 6. The Cavaliers’ offense, led by quarterback Chandler Morris, seeks consistency after Morris completed 21 of 40 passes for 216 yards and two scores in that loss. The ground game, featuring Harrison Waylee and J’Mari Taylor, provides balance. Virginia’s season has been defined by close contests, with a 5-1 record in games decided by one score, including three overtime victories. Missouri (8-4) rides momentum from a decisive 31-17 road win at Arkansas on Nov. 29. The Tigers’ offense is powered by a formidable rushing attack. In the win over the Razorbacks, Ahmad Hardy rushed for 157 yards and a touchdown, Jamal Roberts added 100 yards and a score, and dual-threat quarterback Beau Pribula contributed 78 rushing yards and a touchdown. Missouri’s season featured a tough SEC slate, with key wins over Auburn and Mississippi State but losses to ranked opponents Alabama, Oklahoma and Texas A&M. Despite Virginia’s superior overall record, National Statistical’s game simulator projects a 32-22 victory for Missouri. Betting markets, however, list Virginia as a 4-point favorite, with an over/under total of 44.5 points, suggesting expectations for a relatively low-scoring affair. The neutral-site game in Jacksonville presents a unique challenge for both programs. Virginia will aim to leverage its experience in tight games, while Missouri will look to establish its physical run game early. The key matchup will be Missouri’s potent ground attack against a Virginia defense that allowed 66 rushing yards to Duke’s primary back in its last outing. Conversely, Missouri’s defense, which surrendered 38 points to Texas A&M in November, must contain Virginia’s multi-faceted offensive weapons. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. EST. The game will be televised nationally on ABC.
