Preview: South Carolina State Bulldogs vs. Prairie View Panthers ATLANTA (Interstat) — A pair of surging teams will clash for a potential national championship berth when the Prairie View Panthers face the South Carolina State Bulldogs on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The Panthers (10-3), winners of three straight, enter as a slight favorite according to analytics. National Statistical’s game simulator projects a 38-33 Prairie View victory. The team’s success is fueled by dynamic quarterback Cameron Peters, who has been exceptional during the win streak. In last week’s 23-21 victory at Jackson State, Peters accounted for 394 total yards, passing for 294 and rushing for 100 with two touchdowns. South Carolina State (9-3) rides a five-game winning streak into Atlanta, last defeating Delaware State 28-17 on Nov. 22. The Bulldogs’ offense showed balance in that win, with quarterback William Atkins IV throwing for 249 yards and two touchdowns, and athlete Josh Shaw rushing for 99 yards and a score. Both teams have navigated challenging schedules. The Bulldogs’ three losses came against FBS opponent South Florida and FCS foes Charleston Southern and South Carolina. The Panthers’ defeats were to Rice (FBS), UT Rio Grande Valley and Alabama State. The matchup pits Prairie View’s high-octane offense, averaging over 40 points during its streak, against a South Carolina State defense that has allowed an average of just 19.2 points over its last five contests. Containing the dual-threat Peters will be the Bulldogs’ primary defensive objective. Conversely, the Panthers’ defense must account for South Carolina State’s multiple weapons. Atkins has been efficient, and the Bulldogs have shown a potent rushing attack behind Shaw. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. EST Saturday. The winner will advance to the NCAA FCS championship game on Dec. 20.
