High-Flying Texans Host Fighting Hawks in Regular Season Finale STEPHENVILLE, Texas (Interstat) — A surging Tarleton State team, boasting one of the nation’s top records, aims to cap its remarkable regular season when it hosts North Dakota on Saturday at Tarleton Memorial Stadium. The Texans (11-1) enter the contest riding a six-game winning streak, their lone blemish a 31-28 loss at Abilene Christian on Nov. 1. Their potent offense, averaging over 45 points per game during the streak, is led by quarterback Victor Gabalis. In last week’s dramatic 45-44 win over Austin Peay, Gabalis passed for 311 yards and three touchdowns, adding a rushing score. He also threw for 282 yards and four touchdowns in a 61-0 rout of North Alabama on Nov. 15. North Dakota (8-5) arrives after a convincing 31-6 road victory at Tennessee Tech. The Fighting Hawks have alternated wins and losses over their past five games, seeking consistency behind dual-threat quarterback Jerry Kaminski. In the win over Tennessee Tech, Kaminski accounted for 98 passing yards, 27 rushing yards and a touchdown. His versatility was on full display in a narrow 34-31 loss to South Dakota State on Nov. 22, where he passed for 292 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 34 yards and another score. The matchup features a stark contrast in recent trajectories. Tarleton State’s explosive attack will test a North Dakota defense that has been stout at times, holding three of its last five opponents under 20 points. However, the Fighting Hawks’ offense has been inconsistent, scoring 10 and 31 points in its two most recent losses. According to National Statistical’s game simulator, the Texans are projected to win 42-31, a prediction that aligns with their high-scoring form. A victory would solidify an exceptional season for Tarleton State, while North Dakota looks to spring an upset and build momentum heading into the postseason. Kickoff is set for Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025, in Stephenville. — 30 —
