HARRISONBURG, Va. (Interstat) — A surging James Madison team hosts Troy in a regular-season finale Friday night at Bridgeforth Stadium, with the Dukes looking to cap a dominant campaign. James Madison (11-1) has won six straight games, including a 59-10 rout of Coastal Carolina last Saturday. Quarterback Alonza Barnett III accounted for three touchdowns in the win. The Dukes’ lone loss was a 24-20 setback against Washington State on Nov. 22. Troy (8-4) enters on a two-game winning streak after defeating Southern Mississippi 28-18. Trojans quarterback Goose Crowder passed for 285 yards and three touchdowns in the victory. Running back Tae Meadows added 94 rushing yards and a score. The Dukes’ offense has been prolific, scoring 35 or more points in nine games this season. Troy’s defense, which allowed 33 points in a loss to Old Dominion on Nov. 13, will face its toughest test of the year. Despite Troy’s strong record, National Statistical’s game simulator projects a 41-28 win for James Madison. Betting markets list Troy as a 23.5-point underdog, with an over/under of 47.5 points. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST Friday, Dec. 5.
